Shipping and Returns

This is the page a serious buyer reads before they write to us, so it answers the questions plainly rather than burying them.

Shipping

Courier

FedEx and DHL, fully insured and tracked door to door.

Transit time

3 to 5 working days to Europe, 4 to 7 working days to North America.

Insurance

Every shipment is insured for its full declared value while in transit. If a parcel is lost, you are covered, not us.

Export paperwork

Gemstone export from Sri Lanka is regulated. We handle the documentation, and it is included in the price.

Import duty and taxes

Paid by the buyer, and they vary by country. Check your own rate before ordering, because a surprise at customs is nobody's idea of a good purchase.

Returns

You have 7 days from delivery to return a stone for a refund. The stone must come back unset, unaltered, and with its certificate. Return shipping is paid by the buyer unless the stone was not as described, in which case we pay it.

A stone that has been set into jewellery cannot be returned, because once it has been through a setter's hands it is no longer the stone that left here. If you are planning to set a stone, do the inspection first.

Custom and made to order jewellery is not returnable. We will say so clearly before taking any order of that kind.

Before you commit

Ask for more photographs or a video under different lighting. Ask for the report number and check it with the laboratory. Ask what the stone looks like in daylight against tungsten, particularly for anything blue or colour changing. None of this offends us, and a buyer who asks is a buyer who stays.
